Payyoli is a small village in the district of Kozhikode (Calicut), South Kerala. Situated on the North Malabar Coast, it is a quiet
destination with golden stretch of sand and shallow waters. Though it is known for its beach, a host of other spots make it a site for visit. It is also home to the athlete legend PT Usha. Payyoli is only 30 Kms away from Kozhikode (Calicut).
Attractions of this place include the quiet, palm lined beach, the Kunjali Marrrakar Museum, Velliyamkallu and Trikkottur Perumalpuram Temple. The presiding diety of the temple is Lord Shiva. Trikkottur Perumalpuram Temple is located near the Payyoli beach. This place is well connected to the other parts of the state. Weather conditions are similar to the other parts of Kerala.

Thikkoti
Light House is
located in Thikkoti
Village in Calicut
Kozhikode District
of Kerala State of
India. It has a
history behind its
construction . It
was established on
1847 and was
established over
rock shores where
once the shipwreck
happened near that
beach. Therefore to
remind the sailor of
this accident this
lighthouse was
built.
The Light house is
about 33.5 meter
high and tourists
are allowed to visit
this lighthouse and
enjoy the scenic
view of Arabian Sea
from this light
house. It is located
about 30 km from
Calicut city.

was born in the

Government started a
Sports School for
women, and Usha was
chosen to represent
her district.
